In May 2024, VOITTO received an email inquiry from a machinery manufacturer in Egypt seeking a 20 ton overhead crane. This customer primarily produces stamping machines, molds, and heavy machinery parts. The factory’s materials are primarily large and heavy, requiring frequent handling and installation. The customer’s existing lifting equipment required frequent daily maintenance and posed safety risks. To improve the efficiency and safety of their production lines, they decided to upgrade their lifting equipment and purchase a 20 ton overhead crane.

Project Challenges

Site Constraints: The client’s factory building had a large span but limited height. The bridge crane needed to cover the entire factory area while maintaining a sufficient lifting height.

Complex Lifting Conditions: The crane needed to handle mold handling, hoisting stamping machines, and transferring heavy metal components simultaneously, placing high demands on the crane’s stability and precise positioning capabilities.

Environmental Adaptability: Egypt is a hot and dry region, requiring the equipment to withstand high temperatures, be dust-proof, and operate continuously for extended periods of time.

After communicating with the customer and understanding the parameter information, our technical team, according to the customer’s needs, customized a 20 ton double girder overhead crane:

  • Optimized Structural Design: A compact double-beam structure maximizes the hook’s lifting height within the limited factory floor height, ensuring smooth installation of molds and stamping machines.
  • Upgraded Core Components: Equipped with a high-power motor and high-performance reducer, it operates efficiently even under high-frequency and heavy-load conditions. The electronic control system utilizes variable frequency speed regulation for smooth starting and stopping, as well as precise positioning.
  • High Temperature Protection Design: The entire machine is equipped with high-temperature-resistant cables, an IP54-rated electrical control box, and a fully enclosed trolley mechanism, enhancing reliability in hot and dusty environments.
  • After-Sales and Training Support: Engineers are dispatched to provide remote installation guidance and training to the customer’s operation team, enabling them to quickly master equipment operation and maintenance.

Customer Feedback

After the project was confirmed, our factory promptly arranged the order and began producing the 20-ton overhead crane. The customer received the goods on August 24. Our engineers went to Egypt to guide the installation and commissioning at the agreed time. This equipment is currently in normal use in the Mechanical manufacturing workshop.

Account Manager Mahmoud Abdelhameed stated that compared to their original equipment, energy consumption has been reduced by approximately 15%, overall factory production efficiency has increased by 30%, and the safety and reliability of large-scale equipment installation have also been improved.
